Title:Clinical Imaging and Machine Learning in Drug Development
Abstract: Drug development has many scientific challenges and clinical imaging can play a relevant role in surprisingly many of these. In this talk, I will start with a high-level overview of drug discovery and development, before reviewing the most relevant roles that imaging can play: mechanistically in early phases of development, for efficacy or safety, and for identification of relevant patient subpopulations. Where possible, I will draw on neuroimaging for examples. Lastly, I will discuss how machine learning approaches to clinical imaging data are enabling new opportunities, and discuss some of the current challenges this brings.
